Electrical Sensors To Monitor Skin Impedance
Scientific dissemination | CoDEEC 2026 – Winter Edition
This study aims to develop an intelligent dehydration detection system by integrating electrical bioimpedance sensors into eyeglass frames. Tests were conducted in controlled environments using materials that simulate human skin, such as phantoms and pig skin, to study the relationship between dehydration and changes in electrical impedance. In the future, the data will be correlated with measurements from optical sensors to improve detection accuracy. The ultimate goal is to develop smart glasses capable of monitoring hydration and issuing alerts to remind users to drink water, which will be especially useful for the elderly.
